Southampton's B team have been drawn in Group F of the 2022/23 Papa John's Trophy.
Thursday's draw as part of the EFL's fixture release day sees Dave Horseman's side tasked with trips to Exeter City, Forest Green Rovers and Newport County.
It's familiar territory when it comes to Forest Green, who Saints met in the competition as recently as September 2019; goals from Harlem Hale and Dan Nlundulu not enough to avoid a 3-2 defeat at The New Lawn.
The same can be said for Newport, who the first-team faced as recently as last season with a comprehensive 8-0 EFL Cup victory on the road.
Saints and Exeter haven't met since November 2013. Both U21 sides went head-to-head at St James Park in the Premier League Trophy as the hosts claimed a 2-0 win.
