Ralph Hasenhüttl has confirmed that Jan Bednarek is back in contention for Southampton’s last game of the Premier League season, at home to Sheffield United on Sunday.
The defender rarely misses a match, starting 34 of Saints’ 37 league fixtures, but was sidelined for last weekend’s 2-0 victory at Bournemouth by a muscle injury.
“He (Bednarek) is back in training, and fit and available for the weekend,” the boss said.
“Injury wise, we have Sofiane (Boufal) and Moussa (Djenepo) still out, but the rest are fit.
“Everybody wants to play, everybody wants to show up and everybody wants to win on the weekend against a strong team, to finish the season with a good result.”
