The Saints captain was introduced with the score at 0-0 on 65 minutes, helping the hosts claim all three points late on.
Yussuf Poulsen's goal proved to be the difference as Åge Hareide's side also recorded a third successive clean sheet.
The win sees Denmark move level on points with top of the table Republic of Ireland heading into Tuesday's meeting with Luxembourg in Group D.
