Saints duo prepare for Euro semi-final

By SFC Media time Fri 18 May International

Holders Germany will face England's Women in Friday's Under-17 Euro semi, while Spain will attempt to reach a fifth straight final against debutants Finland.

Young Southampton pairing Phoebe Williams and Kayla Rendell featured heavily in England's successful qualification campaign, playing the full 90 minutes against Poland, and also making appearances against Spain and Italy.

Opponents Germany topped Group A, while England beat Italy 4-0 to finish second in Group B.

The Young Lions have got a shaky record at this stage of the competition though, having been defeated in their previous three semis, and losing to Germany themselves in the 2016 semi, where the game finished 4-3.

Kick-off is at 14:30 in Alytus, Lithuania, and the game will be streamed live on @UEFAcom.

The winners will enter Monday's final and the FIFA Under-17s Women's World Cup in Uruguay.
