We take a look at the top ten photos from Southampton's Instagram account in 2016.

In at number ten is a photo from a very special night for Southampton's youngsters, as they beat Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Youth Cup at Old Trafford.

At nine, it's Sofiane Boufal's celebration after netting the only goal of the game in Southampton's 1-0 win against Middlesbrough – his first Premier League goal.

Southampton's celebrations from the win against Everton, and former manager Ronald Koeman, received the eighth-most likes in 2016.

It's another Sofiane Boufal celebration at seven, as the Moroccan wheels away after netting his first goal for Southampton – an absolute stunner in a 1-0 win against Sunderland in the EFL Cup.

At six we have another celebration shot, as goalscorers Ryan Bertrand and Jay Rodriguez link up after the latter had put Southampton 2-1 ahead against AFC Bournemouth.

A special night at St Mary's provides us with our fifth most liked photo of 2016 on Instagram, as Virgil van Dijk celebrates his goal against Internazionale.

Sofiane Boufal features again at number four, with the photo of his welcome to Southampton gaining just over 7,000 likes on Instagram.

It's time for another Virgil van Dijk celebration, with the Southampton defender's celebration after his goal against Tottenham Hotspur coming in at number three.

Our second most popular Instagram post of 2016 features club-record signing Sofiane Boufal, as the playmaker gives the cameras a thumbs-up after signing for the club.

So here it is, our most popular Instagram photo from 2016, receiving over 8,500 likes following a special night against Internazionale in the UEFA Europa League.

Let's hope for many more special photos in 2017! Make sure you're following us on Instagram.
