Cédric has hailed his teammate James Ward-Prowse after the Academy graduate recently clocked up 150 appearances for the club against Tottenham.
Ward-Prowse marked that landmark by making it three assists for the campaign when his inch-perfect free-kick delivery teed up Virgil van Dijk to open the scoring last time out.
Cédric said: “He’s an amazing player and he’s also very good at set-pieces as you saw against Tottenham.
“Last year against West Brom, I remember he scored an amazing free-kick and got an assist.
“He understands the game and he’s intelligent. He moves good on the pitch and when you understand football it’s good to have intelligent players around you so I really like to play alongside Prowsey.
“We all do some free-kicks practice but he has some talent and he’s always very regular in this.
“This is the tough part because normally you have a good free-kick, but then the second one is not so good but Prowsey has a very similar level each time.”
The club has become renowned for giving young players an opportunity to grow and develop in the first-team, and Cédric feels the England Under-21 international is in the perfect place to continue his burgeoning career.
“It’s good for him to be in a club like Southampton because he has space to play and to grow up as a player,” Cédric explained.
“At the same time he is in the best league in the world, the most competitive and he is growing game after game.
“He really needs to be in a club like this because the competition makes us ready and makes us better.”
