Oriol Romeu has given an insight into the confidence among the Southampton squad, ahead of their UEFA Europa League clash with Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

Saints are in Israel for the Group K match at Turner Stadium, where they head to on the back of four consecutive wins.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Romeu explained that the impressive run has given the team fresh impetus.

“We are feeling comfortable now, we are feeling much better,” he said. “The last results have been very good, not just results but also the way we played and did a lot of things. They were very positive and we have to keep doing the same.

“Obviously, one game or two games doesn't change anything, you have to keep doing it every game. That's football and that's what we have to do tomorrow.

“We were playing well, but not getting those results, and I think once that result came everything changed.”

The midfielder underlined the importance of getting a win tomorrow night, with Hapoel Be’er Sheva having also won their opening Europa League match.

“I think the first game was very important, and it's always good to start with a win, but I think now with six points it would be even better,” said Romeu.

“It would give us more confidence to keep going and to get through the next stage and we hope we can do it. I think after winning those two games, we will feel much better, but it's all about tomorrow and the game we play then.”
