Bertrand and Forster watch on as England lose to Iceland

Southampton's Ryan Bertrand and Fraser Forster watched on as England crashed out of UEFA EURO 2016 after defeat to Iceland.

The duo were both named on the bench, as Roy Hodgson's men suffered a painful exit at the hands of Iceland.

The defeat came after England had got off to the perfect start, with Wayne Rooney converting from the penalty spot after Raheem Sterling had been fouled in the penalty area.

But Iceland responded immediately as Ragnar Sigurdsson stole in ahead of Kyle Walker to volley home from a long throw.

Kolbeinn Sigthorsson then stunned Hodgson's men further as he put Iceland ahead, squeezing the ball under goalkeeper Joe Hart.

England were unable to find a route back into the game, as they exited at the last-16 stage of the competition.

Bertrand made one appearance, in the 0-0 draw with Slovakia, while Forster was unused during EURO 2016.
