The Saints Foundation’s Big Bike Challenge returns for the new season.
Following on from the fantastic success of last season’s charity bike ride to Crystal Palace which saw 50 Saints fans complete the journey, the Foundation have fixed up another exciting cycle ride to a Saints match this season.
The Charity is looking for fans to take on the Challenge and bike from St Mary’s Stadium to the Madejski Stadium on Saturday 6th April 2013 in time to see Saints vs Reading in the Barclays Premier League!
The event will raise funds for the Saints Foundation’s charitable programme specifically supporting Saints Dream Days. A Saints Dream Day offers a fantastic experience for disadvantaged children who have a passion for Southampton Football Club and football.
The distance is approximately 53 miles, a great challenge for the novice rider, and we will also be introducing the Sprint Challenge for those experienced riders who complete the distance before many of us have left Southampton, with a fantastic prize for both the “sprint king” and the top fundraising participant.
Set up specifically for Children with impairments or suffering from life limiting conditions, the Stadium experience is designed to be a positive distraction from on-going life challenges and create an experience to live long in the memory, click here to find out more.
The event is a great day out for all involved and one of last year’s riders Steve Goddard commented; “I would recommend the Challenge to any Saints fans looking for a focus to get fit and wanting to set a personal challenge. It’s an event that brings you closer to the Club as well as raising funds for a great cause."
