Jake Vokins is an attack-minded left-back who flourished as part of Saints’ U23s side.
His performances for the academy has seen him called up to the first team ahead of the 2019/20 season, particularly impressing thanks to his goal away at Preston North End in July 2019.
In September 2018 Vokins signed a two-year contract extension, a deal which saw him surpass ten years at the club after joining at the age of eight.
Vokins has also represented his country, featuring for the Three Lions at Under 17s, Under 18s and, most recently following his debut in September 2018, Under 19s level.
In October 2019 the full-back got his first taste of first team football, coming off the bench away at Manchester City in the EFL Cup.
First Team debut
In January 2020, Vokins made his full Saints debut as he started the FA Cup third round win against Huddersfield Town.
The defender also scored his first goal as his strike sealed a 2-0 win to see Saints progress to the fourth round.
He then made his next appearance of the 2019/20 season in the 1-1 draw against Brighton and Hove Albion at St Mary's.
